The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) or popularly known as Cordova Bridge is expected to be completed by 2020 with its construction set this July, the Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation (MPTDC) revealed.
Spanning 8.25-kilometers, the P27.9-billion toll bridge will connect Cebu City to Mactan Island via Cordova. It will be located around 7.5 kilometers south of Mandaue Bridge and will take off from the Cebu South Coastal Road crossing the Mactan channel to Mactan Island.
Cordova Mayor Mary Therese Sitoy Cho said the new bridge is expected to cut travel time to only a few minutes to the Cebu airport as well as to bring travel comfort and easy access to tourists.
The Cebu-Cordova Bridge is a joint venture among MPTDC, Cebu City local government and Cordova.
