DPWH seeks PCA's help in nation building

Manila, Philippines- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has sought the help of Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) Inc. in building a better nation by providing private capital to government infrastructure projects.

In his presentation yesterday during the PCA General Membership Meeting held at Discovery Suites Ortigas, DPWH Undersecretary Romeo S. Momo noted the importance of the participation of private contractors particularly those who are within Metro Manila.

"If you notice, our projects right now are mostly in Manila and they're undertaken by contractors from Masbate and Mindanao. We really need contractors from within Metro Manila kase sanay na kayo sa area, you know the problem, you understand, and you know the solution," Momo said.

Currently, the DPWH has 20 ongoing major road projects to address the worsening traffic in the metropolis. Some of these are the NAIA Expressway, NLEX-SLEX Connector Road, Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3, C6 Phase I, Cavite-Laguna (CALA) Expressway, NLEX Harbor Link (Segment 10), NLEX Harbor Link (Segment 8.2), SLEX- TR4, Plaridel By-Pass Road (Phase II), Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway, and Central Luzon Link Expressway.
