DPWH conducts research symposium for better infra

For the sake of building a better nation and promoting better infrastructure anchored to efficiency, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) conducted a research symposium thru the initiative of Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) last September 27, 2016 at the GT-Toyota Asian Culture Center in the University of the Philippines, Quezon City.

Participated by engineers, researchers and scholars from government and various private offices, the symposium was themed “Providing infrastructure that improves quality, traffic and road safety”.

“The DPWH acknowledges not just these researches per se but as well as the call to partake in the collaborative efforts of incorporating these innovations in our mandate as being the infrastructure arm of the government,” said Undersecretary Raul C. Asis pertaining to the 18 research studies presented at the symposium.

The event was graced by researchers from Tokyo Institute of Technology, University of the Philippines, University of Sto.Tomas, De La Salle University, University of San Jose-Recoletos, Technological Institute of the Philippines, Central Mindanao University, Shell Bitumen Philippines, Solid Cement Corporation, Krah Pipes Manila, Inc., Earth Structure Philippines, Tertex International, R. A. Kelman, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers and DPWH offices such as BRS and Bureau of Quality and Safety (BQS).

This is the 2nd Symposium conducted and organized by the DPWH.
