PCA attends China-ASEAN Summit


PCA Executive Director, Ibarra G. Paulino and PCA Board of Trustee, Noel D. Polecarpio represented the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) as spectators in the China –ASEAN Construction Industry Cooperation Summit last May 28, 2016 in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, China. Other Filipino participants were Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines Officer-in-Charge, Sonia Valdeavilla and Dahn Berger Phils. Construction Corporation President, Edgar Ramos.


The event also coincided with the Inauguration Ceremony of the China-ASEAN Construction Industry Cooperation Committee which primarily aims to strengthen industry cooperation between member countries for more responsive construction market in ASEAN.

China, has long been a giant player in the world economy and until now it continues to impact the global trade whenever it moves. Amid the China’s current economic slowdown, prospects remain positive particularly in the construction industry.


Reiterating the significant role of construction in every economy, China-ASEAN Business Council Executive President Xu Ningning is confident that that establishing the committee is a win-win situation. With an interactive annual meeting, the newly established committee will have 50 member company for its first batch with 20 from China and 30 from all over ASEAN (3 from each country).


Meanwhile, the PCA Board will still discuss whether the association will affiliate itself to the newly established China-ASEAN Construction Industry Cooperation Committee.
